Who is Yah-Key?
Hip Hop is calling out for the birth of true MC's and Yah-Key is a street savvy answer to that call. Chicago native Yah-Key, which means "God is the Key", is an entrepreneur and hip hop artist with a passion to innovate and inspire regardless of ones happenings. God's love, mercy, grace and faithfulness has been tested in this young man's life who now has a testimony coming from a life of near death situations to performing alongside a host of mainstream hip hop artists. Yah-Key is definitely a breath of fresh air when it comes to using hip hop as an artistry to paint a picture. Husband, Father, Mentor, Believer, Bad Boy, and Good Guy are a few of many hats worn by such an intriguing individual.
Early Life
Born and raised in Chicago, IL -- Yah-Key began to illustrate his creativity among his peers making what started off as a hobby, into a reality by writing lyrics and poetry for friends. On the other hand having a great jump shot and dribbling skills would detour Yah-Key for a few years because he wanted to focus on his high school basketball career at Simeon Career Academy.
Later, Yah-Key became exposed to the fast life and the materialistic aspects that came with it. At that time, not knowing once his decision was made to put basketball on hold; an invaluable lesson would lead him in the direction of his purpose. Unexpectedly, the fast life Yah-Key chose to lead during his growing years placed him in some near-death situations more than once, which made him realize there was an unusual purpose for his life because he was a soul survivor.
Debut as Yah-Key
While in pursuit of that purpose, Yah-Key released several mixtapes under his "Already Made 7.xx" series and 3 independant albums "Streetz of Royalty, The Kin-Folk Konnecion and Back Home". Realizing that the music was significantly powerful and influential to those who consumed it; unknowingly, Yah-Key begin to experience a life with no meaning. All the same, he continued living life under the sun and performing at numerous venues across the country using his gift to spread his innovative story.
These venues lead to exposure, strong business relationships and an unforeseeable fan base in various cities and states. With production by, G.O.O.D Music / Sony Urban Label producer, Keezo Kane who was originally discovered by Grammy Award winning artist Kanye West; along with, Miami based producer Cudda Brown, aided as ammunition for Yah-Key's unique rhythmic sound.
Controversy
Definitely not your average rapper but most certainly a visionary and revolutionary of his time -- Yah-Key shows us that this is more than music to him. His strong spiritual belief has been displayed in numerous songs throughout his career. On the other hand, his hustler ambition has always been on display as well and may have rubbed some the wrong way. After a long hiatus from the industry, some time away from the religiousness, and more focus on relationship; Yah-Key has been rebuilt and clearly understands that he is not a perfect man, but just wants to die trying to be a better man.
What's Next?
While walking through life's journey -- youth violence, crime, genocide, mind control, abuse of power, fatherlessness, and family orientation are all nationwide social issues that are hindering our communities in which Yah-Key addresses through his unorthodox artistry.
All things considered, Yah-Key has established an inconceivably different aura leaving fans eager for a mainstream appearance. Comparatively, we must now anticipate the future works of Yah-Key. With production from multi-platinum producer K-Low, who has been accredited for Tupac Shakur's early success, accompanied by a host of other well known producers -- inquiring minds would like to know what can be expected?
